FDA issues final rule on Information Required in Prior Notice of Imported Food

FDA issued a final rule on Information Required in Prior Notice of Imported Food. As specified under Section 304 of the Food Safety Modernization Act, the new rule requires the name of any country that has previously refused a product entry to be reported. FDA says the new rule gives the agency tools to ensure that imported foods are produced under the same safety standards as those of the US.
