Non-GMO foods to account for 15 percent of market by 2017

A growing consumer preference for healthy foods, including clean labeling and non-GMO products, is set to continue, according to a new report from market intelligence firm Packaged Facts. The report predicts the global non-GMO food and beverage market will be worth $800 billion by 2017, while growing at a compound annual growth rate of 15 percent. At that growth rate, the report predicts, non-GMO foods and beverages would account for 15 percent. In 2012, non-GMO sales totaled $400 billion and 8 percent of the total market.
