DiGiorno, Lean Cuisine and Stouffer’s products recalled for possible glass fragments

March 11, 2016

Nestlé USA has issued a voluntary recall for select DiGiorno Pizza, Lean Cuisine and Stouffer’s frozen food products over concern they may contain pieces of glass.

According to USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), approximately 267,024 pounds of chicken pizza products, produced at Nestlé’s Little Chute, WI establishment, and chicken lasagna products, produced at its Springville, UT establishment are part of the recall. These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.

The problem was discovered after the Nestlé received multiple consumer complaints regarding small pieces of glass in foods that fall under the jurisdiction of FSIS or the FDA. Specifically, one consumer complaint was received regarding FSIS inspected product.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to the consumption of the products subject to recall.
