The J.M. Smucker Company began hiring 250 employees for its Longmont, Colo., plant, which will begin operations in 2019. Having started construction in 2017, the facility will now begin a second phase of expansion, valued at $140 million, and hire another 250 workers for its Uncrustables operation.

Designed and built by Stellar, United States Cold Storage opened a new 232,366-sq.-ft. food distribution facility in Laredo, Texas. The $35 million project includes freezer and cooler areas with 21 dock doors.

Prestage Foods of Iowa will open a new $300 million, 700,000-sq.-ft. plant south of Eagle Grove. The facility includes a $2.5 million thermal oxidizer to control odor and several robotic processes.

DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products Company, LLC opened a new warehouse and distribution center located at its manufacturing site in Loudon, Tenn. An expanded section comes online in mid-2019.

Treeline Treenut Cheese, a dairy-free cheese supplier, doubled its production capacity at its Kingston, N.Y., facility by adding 2,000 sq. ft. and automated processing/packaging equipment.
