Acceptance of biotechnology has been slow in the United States. Internationally, acceptance is more widespread. Several international groups have recently issued reports concerning public acceptance and international trade in products of biotechnology. These groups are working to establish science-based international regulatory systems and to build greater public understanding of modern food production.
