Kettle Foodsis spending $18 million to build a 70,000-sq.-ft. plant in Beloit, WI. Construction will begin this month and should be complete by the end of the year.

Perdue Farmsplans to invest $146 million by 2009 to expand its Houston County, GA, facility. The company is adding a cooking plant to the facility and plans to double the capacity of the existing processing plant. Together these projects will create 925 new jobs. The company also plans to invest an additional $9 million to upgrade its feed mill and hatchery in Monroe County, GA, creating 75 new jobs.
