Antimicrobial metal coating
Sureshield with Ultra-Fresh is a metal coating that suppresses the growth of stain- and odor-causing bacteria, molds, mildews and fungi, according to Horizon Business Group, the marketer. The pre- and post-applied antimicrobial metal coatings use environmentally friendly, low-VOC compounds to retard microbial growth over the useful life of the metal product, including food processing equipment. The compounds protect coatings from microorganism germination and outgrowth by changing the coating from one that is conductive to microbial replication to one that is non-conductive for replication. It can be pre-applied via a solvent-based baking enamel to one or both sides of an aluminum, stainless or carbon steel coil. It can also be post-applied via powder or liquid aerosol spray, air spray, airless spray, brush or roller to any type and size metal area, including aluminum, brass, carbon steel, chrome, copper, cast iron and stainless steel.
