The Praxair ColdFront cryoboost system is a patent-pending technology that integrates cryogenic and mechanical systems. As mechanical refrigeration systems operate, the refrigeration coils continuously lose efficiency due to the accumulation of frost, which results in a failure of the refrigeration system to maintain the set point temperature. ColdFront cryoboost systems supplement the mechanical refrigeration systems on demand and balance air flow to reduce air infiltration into the system, which can contribute to the accumulation of frost on the coil.
