ConAgra Foods, Inc. agreed to acquire Toronto-based Del Monte Canada Inc. from an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners. The agreement includes the acquisition of all Del Monte-branded packaged fruit, fruit snacks and vegetable products in Canada, as well as Aylmer tomato products. Del Monte fresh produce and juices and Aylmer soups will remain under separate ownership.
Marc S. Firestone, Kraft Foods executive vice president, corporate and legal affairs, and general counsel, will leave the company in April. Gerhard W. Pleuhs will succeed Firestone. Pleuhs currently serves as senior vice president and deputy general counsel for Kraft Foods.

Americold announced that Jeffrey M. Gault, a director of Americold, was appointed by the board of trustees as the president and chief executive officer, succeeding Jos Opdeweegh, who resigned.
Kellogg Company entered into an agreement to acquire Procter & Gamble’s Pringles business for $2.695 billion. According to Kellogg, Pringles’ brand will complement its snacks brands, which include Keebler, Cheez-It and Special K Cracker Chips. In the US, the acquisition provides a new source of growth. Internationally, Pringles provides an established platform from which Kellogg can more aggressively leverage its brands in the international snacks category. The companies expect to complete the transaction in the summer of 2012.
The Brewers of Pennsylvania elected to its 2012 board of directors, president, Bill Covaleski (president and brewmaster of Victory Brewing Company); vice president, Michelle Sullivan (director of corporate and external relations of Sam Adams); treasurer, Dave Casinelli (COO of Yuengling Brewery); and secretary, Damien Malfara (founder, president and head brewer of Old Forge Brewing Company).
