China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine announced plans on Friday to suspend imports of nuts produced by US Sunland over concerns of Salmonella contamination, according to a report from China Daily. Nut products associated with the company have sickened 41 people in 20 US states, and forced the now-shuttered US Sunland to recall over 200 batches of products including peanut and other nut butters. A voluntary recall was initiated on September 24 and expanded on October 15. For more information on Sunland’s domestic recall, visit FDA.gov.
