The “Hot Pink” team, consisting of Alexandra Hills of Rochester Institute of Technology, Florin Mustata of Purdue University Calumet, Stephen Suba of San Jose State University, and Dillon Quist of Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College, received first place in the Amazing Packaging Race at PACK EXPO 2012. The competition sends teams of packaging students around the exhibition floor to complete packaging and processing related tasks in exchange for points from exhibitors. Sponsorship fees from the competition fund the PMMI Education & Training Foundation, which supports educational and travel scholarships for students attending PACK EXPO and member employee tuition reimbursements.
