USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced that producers of raw ground chicken and turkey must reassess HAACP plans in the next 90 days to account for Salmonella outbreaks associated with those types of products. Additionally, FSIS will expand its Salmonella verification sampling program to account for additional raw poultry products and increase sample size requirements.
