Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) has approved three additional areas of benchmarking for the IFS Food Standard Version Six, bringing the total number of recognized scopes to seven. The new scopes are Animal Conversion, Pre-process Handling of Plant Products and Production of (Bio) Chemicals. The GFSI Benchmark Committee included Vince Craig, managing director of Meadowbrae Technical Services Ltd, Andrew Sheard, director of quality—Europe at Campbell Soup Company and Petro Zapata, manager of quality assurance for Yum! Brands.
