Canadian Minister of Health and head of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency Rona Ambrose announced a new searchable online database designed to help identify hazards in the production and processing of food. The Reference Database for Hazard Identification will help the food industry develop preventive controls and safety procedures such as Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Points.
The database includes:
- Product Ingredients and Incoming Materials
- Processing Steps
- Plant Layout (Cross Contamination Zone)
- Biological Hazards
- Chemical Hazards
- Physical Hazards
