Mondelez International will invest $130 million in new biscuit manufacturing technology in its bakeries in Lawn, NJ and Richmond, VA while closing its Philadelphia bakery in early 2015. The Philadelphia closure will affect approximately 350 employees.
Meijer is planning a new dairy production facility in Tipp City, OH. The $100 million project will employ more than 100 people. The 85,000-sq.-ft. facility will be built in three phases over three years.
Leclerc Foods USA has acquired a 166,500-sq.-ft. building in Phoenix, AZ for the expansion of its cookies, snack bars and crackers manufacturing operations. The facility is expected to employ 100 people.
Bell & Evans, a poultry processing and packaging company, will expand operations at its plant in Lebanon County, PA. The company will invest more than $44 million to build a new 158,000-sq.-ft. facility. The expansion is expected to create 380 jobs in three years.
United Natural Foods will build a $37.8 million distribution center in Prescott, WI. The company will also open a new 425,000-sq.-ft. distribution center and warehouse this spring in Racine County, WI.
Hof Haus will expand its Chicago meat products facility. The $9.6 million project, which includes a new slicing and packaging operation, allows the company to expand sales to grocery chains.
