Nestle opened a new food safety research center in Beijing, China, adding to the company's network of 34 R&D and product technology centers. Nestle will provide collaborate with local government agencies, research institutes and universities to provide the foundation for food safety policies in a country that has recently been plagued with publicized food safety issues.
“The inauguration underlines Nestle’s commitment to food safety and is also another important highlight in the story of Nestle’s successful and long-standing presence in China,” says Stefan Catsicas, chief technology officer for Nestle. “I am in no doubt that the work of the Nestle Food Safety Institute will contribute to creating shared value for Nestle shareholders and for society in China.”
