PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, announced PACK EXPO East 2015 will now take place Feb. 16–18 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, PA. Exhibitor demand has already exceeded expectations; the new dates will allow PMMI to better meet demand.
To date, PACK EXPO East has 250 exhibitors signed up to display the latest innovations in packaging and processing technology, but PMMI estimates the show will ultimately debut with more than 400 companies exhibiting on over 100,000 net sq. ft. of exhibit space.
“We expected PACK EXPO East to generate a lot of excitement from exhibitors, but the demand has gone beyond what we hoped for,” says Jim Pittas, vice president of trade shows, PMMI. “With the show just under a year away, it’s already 40 percent bigger than our original projections. The new dates give us the flexibility to open up more space for exhibitors. Ultimately, the attendees will benefit from having greater access to the technologies they need.”
The decision to create an East Coast show stemmed largely from data generated by a Voice of the Attendee survey of PACK EXPO visitors, conducted for PMMI. Space sales for the inaugural edition of PACK EXPO East began in January 2014.
“We’re very excited by the interest exhibitors are showing, and it’s clear the innovative packaging and processing solutions we’ll see in Philadelphia next year will open up a wealth of possibilities to packaging and processing professionals on the East Coast,” Pittas says.
