Unileverannounced plans for a $99 million investment in its salad dressing plant in Independence, MO, converting the facility to dry-mix products, including soups and sauces.

Ruiz Food Products is expanding operations with a $55 million building in Commerce City, SC. The facility, previously used by Heinz, is expected to begin manufacturing in 2015.

Diageo plans to spend $115 million to build a bourbon distillery in Shelby County, KY. The facility should be in operation in the second half of 2016.

Yakult U.S.A. Inc. started production of Yakult, a probiotic drink, at its new state-of-the-art California production plant. The 76,800-sq.-ft. facility has the initial production capacity of 400,000 bottles per day.

Columbus Foods will add 55,000 sq. ft. to its existing Hayward, CA salami curing and processing facility. The project is expected to be complete by July 2015.

Mondelez International will invest $40 million to expand its cracker and cookie plant in Henrico County, VA. The project will add 38,000 sq. ft. and a cracker manufacturing line to the existing plant.

Wm. Wrigley Company plans to increase the production of Skittles by expanding operations at its Yorkville, IL plant with a $50 million investment.
