The Rite-Hite Dok-Lok SHR-5000 vehicle restraint uses a patented “shadow hook” design to secure traditional trailers and intermodal container chassis and trailers with rear-impact guard obstructions. When the restraint is activated, the hook wraps around the rear-impact guard. If it comes into contact with an obstruction, the shadow hook pivots to secure the trailer in place. If the trailer moves, the shadow hook locks in the safety stop. The restraint has a solid steel construction that withstands repeated contact with trailers; extension springs provide upward force against rear-impact guards to keep a trailer secure during loading.
