The 20-oz. bottle was designed by ScorCreative, the structural design studio co-located at Amcor Rigid Plastics, a manufacturer of rigid plastic packaging. The ScorCreative design team worked closely with Agua Enerviva to meet its branding requirements, ultimately producing a tall, sleek container with horizontal ribs that easily accepts a shrink label.
“We love the tall profile of the bottle and the easy, comfortable grip it offers consumers,” says Carol Dollard, founder of Agua Enerviva. “We believe the bottle’s novel design reflects the refreshing benefits of Agua Enerviva and the modern tastes of our consumers.”
Amcor employed its PowerFlex vacuum absorbing base (VAB) technology, which features a patented panel-less design that opens up hot-fill (185°F) bottle options. Amcor’s structural design eliminates the container’s panels and provides brands the choice to create various patterns along the walls.
The patented bottle absorbs vacuum via a specially designed base. A diaphragm within the base draws upward as the liquid cools. The bottle has the geometric characteristics to enable the inverted, cone-shaped diaphragm to deflect upward as the vacuum is created.
Agua Enerviva is a new concept in naturally energizing beverages. The company says its product combines enhanced water and energy drinks, delivering potassium and sodium electrolytes for hydration replenishment, with no artificial ingredients. Available in a variety of flavors, the drink is currently sold throughout the Northeast and mid-Atlantic, with an expanded commercial rollout scheduled for later this year.
