Illinois-based McCain Foods USA, Inc. has issued a recall for 25,215 pounds of bacon fritters because the product may contain pieces of plastic, according to USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The potato, egg, cheese and bacon fritters were produced on Nov. 11, 2015 and bear the establishment number “EST. 18846.” Products were shipped to food service distributors in Arkansas, Florida, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Maine, Oklahoma, Ohio, Texas, Tennessee, and Utah.
According to FSIS, the problem was discovered when a consumer notified the company about finding plastic in the product. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products and FSIS has received no additional reports of injury or illness from consumption of these products.
