The 2015 edition of the North American Meat Institute’s (NAMI) Meat & Poultry Facts is now available. Now in its 44th year, this livestock, meat and poultry industry resource contains the latest statistics on production, consumption, prices, imports, exports, employment, wages and more. The book is a joint publication of NAMI and Sterling Marketing, Inc.
In the introduction, Sterling Marketing President John Nalivka notes several challenges the industry faced in 2015. Nalivka discusses the repercussions caused by porcine epidemic diarrhea (PED) virus and avian influenza, along with export challenges that were exacerbated by a strong US dollar and weaker Asian economies.
Despite those obstacles, the beef and pork industries strengthened their herd building capabilities, while packer and producer margins remained positive. The complete 2015 edition of Meat & Poultry Facts can be purchased from NAMI’s online store. The print edition is $35 for NAMI members and $70 for non-members. The book is also available in a digital format and costs $20 for NAMI members and $40 for non-members.
