In order to accommodate its business growth throughout the Americas, Mettler Toledo’s product inspection division announced it will build a new state-of-the-art facility in the Tampa, FL region.
Expecting to complete construction in late 2017, the new facility will be located 15 miles north of the division’s current site which houses the company's Safeline Metal Detection and X-ray Inspection businesses. It will also become the home of Mettler Toledo’s the Hi-Speed Checkweighing business, which is planned to relocate from Ithaca, NY in 2018.
According to the company, this investment will bring together the experience of its Hi-Speed and Safeline businesses into a single organization at a fully-integrated and efficient facility, which will be more than twice the size of the current building. The company says customers of both businesses will see advantages such as more efficient coordination, engineering and installation of new projects. The co-location will also provide a convenient ‘one stop shop’ for the increasingly important training, validation and service work for the thousands of existing Mettler Toledo installations.
