Chocolate cakes recalled for undeclared allergen
Cakes had undeclared almond paste due to labeling error

Belleville, N.J.-based Orthodox Baking Co. has recalled packages of Oberlander Gluten Free Brand Chocolate Kokosh Cake due to undeclared almond paste.
The product was distributed nationwide in retail stores and supermarkets. It was packaged in a 16-oz., clear plastic package with a wraparound label. It is marked with a last sale date of April 30 and carries UPC #43711 18093 7. The cake was mislabeled as containing “kernel paste” instead of “almond paste.” Production has been suspended until the problem can be verified as corrected.
Consumers who purchased the cake should return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Due to the Passover holiday, the company may be contacted on April 13 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Eastern at 347-450-7077.
