A new survey says nine out of 10 consumers believe food companies share responsibility for healthy diets.
The survey, conducted by Surveygoo on behalf of PR agency Ingredient Communications, asked 1,300 consumers around the world how much responsibility food and drink companies have for ensuring a healthy diet. Fifty-two percent of respondents said “a lot,” and an additional 37 percent said “some.” Only 9 percent said that food and drink companies had no responsibility.
Consumers in Asia were more likely to place the burden on food companies, with 68 percent saying food companies had “a lot” of responsibility for healthy diets. Only 39 percent of Westerners said the same.
