Guidelines will regulate expanded operating schedules

The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued guidelines to inspection personnel for total quality control (TQC) establishments that request approval to expand operating schedules.
TQC establishments can request approval to expand their operating schedules to up to 12 hours per shift. If approved, establishments can produce and ship product during the expanded hours of operation. The provisions required for compliance during the first eight hours of operation will also apply to expanded hours.
