Electronically controlled, the DunAn Microstaq silicon refrigeration bi-directional expansion valve supports air conditioners, heat pumps and refrigeration applications up to 1 ton of refrigeration capacity. The valve has a 3-layered silicon chip that actuates based on an electro-thermal principal. It is compatible with all common refrigerants, including hydrocarbons. Electronic controls with voltage, pulse width modulation or current can be used to command the valve. Both open-loop and closed-loop methodologies can be applied to control the valve.
