Following its child-resistant slider closure released last year, Zip-Pak has added a less expensive press-to-close zipper to the Safety-Lok line for flexible plastic packages. Several tabs must be undone before the zipper can be pulled apart. Detergent pods are the largest market segment, with other possibilities including pharmaceuticals, vitamins and lawn products, the company says. Some nutraceuticals and cannabis edibles suited for flexible packaging also might need a child-resistant closure.
