The Kason model LB 550 lump breaker reduces agglomerates up to 10 in. into particles with an average size as small as 0.08 in. at rates from 2.4 to 28 tons/hr. Material is gravity fed through an upper intake port. Then serrated blades projecting from a rotating shaft push the material against the contoured grinding screen. On-size particles pass through the screen and fall through a discharge chute, while oversize particles remain in the milling chamber until reduced sufficiently. Available in carbon steel, 304 or 316 stainless steel, Hastelloy and other alloys, the unit comes with a shaft supported at both ends or with a cantilevered shaft.
