Ruiz Foods Products Inc. recalled about 245,000 pounds of El Monterey frozen breakfast wraps that may contain small rocks, the USDA announced.
The Denison, Texas, company sent the egg, potato and cheese products to stores nationwide. The recalled items made Jan. 17 and 18 are eight-pack “family size” plastic bags with best by dates listed as 01/17/2020 and 01/18/2020 and lot codes 19017 and 19018.
The packages have establishment No. 17523A on the back.
On June 14, Ruiz Foods told the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service of three consumer complaints about foreign material in the wraps. The company is investigating the source. It received one report of a possible injury from eating the product.
People should throw away the wraps or return them to the store, FSIS says.
Anyone with questions about the recall can contact Ruiz Foods’ consumer line at 800-772-6474.
