Elevation Foods recalled some salads and sandwiches sold at Target and Fresh Market for possible listeria contamination.
The recall includes egg salad and deviled egg sandwiches made June 18 and sold under Target’s Archer Farms brand. Also recalled are Freskët brand egg salad, tuna salad and Thai lobster salad. Fresh Market says it sells the lobster salad by the pound in its self-serve seafood salad bar and prepackaged in the seafood display case with the name House of Thaller Thai Lobster.
Elevation Foods shipped fewer than 1,087 cases of the products to retailer warehouses throughout the U.S., the company says. The items were made in its Knoxville, Tenn., facility.
Elevation Foods received positive Listeria monocytogenes test results for three containers of egg salad from Florida regulators. The company is investigating potential sources of the problem.
“Product safety and consumer confidence is of utmost importance to Elevation Foods and its customers,” the company says in its recall announcement released by the FDA.
No illnesses had been reported at the time of the recall notice.
