Straying outside the norm, creativity and ingenuity were rewarded at the 2014 Most Innovative Dairy Products Competition which presented top awards to a cucumber dill cottage cheese and caramel apple flavored milk.

With a number of consumers flocking to farmers markets and reaching for natural products at the grocery store, the CDC is urging public officials and consumers to consider the dangers of consuming raw milk or unpasteurized dairy products.

The facilities were winners of the 10th annual Dairy Industry Safety Recognition Awards and Achievement Certificates.

This year marked the 92nd annual contest.
