Shamrock Farms is investing $59 million into the project, which includes adding additional equipment, cold storage space and a new production filling line.

Henry Avocado Corp. has expanded its cold storage distribution center in Charlotte, N.C. through collaboration with design-build firm A M King.

The 335,000-sq.-ft. facility is part of a strategic collaboration with Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) to co-locate Americold warehouse facilities on the CPKC network.

Americold has constructed an automated 131,000-sq.-ft. cold storage and distribution facility in Russellville, Arkansas.

The first phase of IWI Kingman will be home to more than 30,000 pallet positions and 43 dock doors. 

This new facility will be Arcadia's first to focus on port-based handling services.

The site will serve as a hub for the Southwest U.S. with access to markets in Southern California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico and Colorado.

An open house for the Sturbridge, Mass., facility was held on October 20.

While market factors are driving rising demand for cold buildings, there are also practical reasons behind the need for newer, taller cold storage facilities.

Blackline Cold Storage has broken ground at the site of their new 298,000-square-foot cold storage facility to be owned in partnership with Artemis Real Estate Partners at the Port of Houston, Texas. The facility will provide approximately 70 new jobs to the area when the first phase of construction is complete on the 36-acre site in TGS Cedar Port Industrial Park.
