The FDA will consider the registration of a food facility to be expired if a facility’s registration is not renewed by December 31, 2024.

The requirements include those set by organizations such as the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and even state and local agencies.

The agency concluded that the intended use of BVO in food is no longer considered safe after the results of studies.

The updated list includes select food ingredients (including food and color additives), food contact substances and contaminants under FDA review.
