The new award is one of products of the SAVE FOOD Initiative to create global networks, awareness, programs and competitions that can help fight food loss and waste.
The award was presented based on the company’s work and collaboration with Ardent Mills on its flour mill and grain storage facility for Ardent Mills in Gibsonton, Fla.
A M King provided property consulting services in addition to designing and building the mega-facility, which includes cold storage, ripening, processing and packaging space.
Two expansion projects have earned this year’s honors, with the awards to be presented at the Food Automation & Manufacturing Symposium and Expo in October.
We are now accepting entries for the 2023 Food Engineering Plant of the Year award. Submissions are due Tuesday, January 31, and eligible facilities need to have been completed in 2022 and opened by January 31, 2023.
