Cognex DS1000 series 3-D laser displacement sensors come bundled with the Cognex VC5 vision controller, which controls up to 4 3-D sensors and factory floor communications. They offer tools such as 3-D height, plane fitting, plane-to-plane angle, volume and cross section to deliver submicron measurement; the sensors use laser triangulation to extract 3-D information. Factory calibration eliminates the need for a calibration procedure or pixel conversion process.
