Natural food company KIND announced it is reducing added sugar across its original Fruit & Nut bar portfolio.
Beginning spring 2016, select KIND bars will contain between 15 and 50 percent less added sugar. In all, the sugar reduction will affect seven flavors across the company’s popular snack bar business. To make the change without sacrificing taste, KIND is swapping out sweetened fruit with unsweetened fruit and reducing added sugar in ingredients such as yogurt coatings.
“At KIND we’re constantly challenging ourselves to do better,” says Daniel Lubetzky, KIND CEO and founder. “For us, this is much more than a recipe update, it’s about honoring our history and continuing to fulfill our brand promise of making snacks that are both nutritious and great-tasting.”
