NSF International has opened up nominations for the 2016 Food Safety Leadership Awards—recognizing individuals that have demonstrated outstanding food safety leadership.
All foodservice operators, manufacturers, researchers, public health officials and members of academia are encouraged to submit entries. The nomination deadline is Friday, March 18. The training and education award recognizes exceptional academic and training programs while the food safety innovation award recognizes outstanding breakthroughs in categories such as equipment design, packaging innovation, product development, research advances, system improvement and technology breakthroughs. Nominations for a special Lifetime Achievement award are also being accepted.
Nominations for the awards—which include previous winners such as US Foods, Earthbound Farms, the Coca-Cola Company and the Produce Marketing Association—are evaluated based on creativity, innovation, design, contribution to the advancement of food safety and overall quality of contributions made. An independent panel of food safety experts will select the winners. Nominators can download forms online and submit them through postal mail or email to:
