Single-serve coffee pioneer Keurig Green Mountain, Inc. named Robert J. Gamgort as CEO beginning May 2. Gamgort currently serves as the CEO of Pinnacle Foods Inc.—manufacturer of household brands such as Mrs. Butterworth’s, Lender’s, Hungry-Man, Duncan Hines and Birds Eye.
Gamgort replaces Brian Kelley, who will become vice chairman of the board. The hire is the first major move by the company since it was acquire by a JAB Holding Company-led consortium earlier this year. Bart Becht, chairman at both JAB and Keurig says Gamgort, a talented and respected executive in the industry, is the ideal partner for the company.
Pinnacle says it has activated its search process to seek a replacement and is already evaluating both internal and external candidates. The company anticipates a seamless transition once Gamgort exits.
