An increase in consumer demand for personalized products is a big challenge for consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies, says a new report from PMMI, the Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies.
The Vision 2025 Report examines numerous challenges facing companies in the consumer packaged goods market. Along with personalization, some of the other challenges are demand for sustainable packaging, online purchasing, and gluten-, GMO- and allergen-free products.
To meet these demands, CPG companies are working with OEMs to ensure their equipment doesn’t overpromise, according to the report. In addition, CPGs are holding more focus groups to get a better idea of consumer demands and focusing more on upfront planning.
