The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has determined that the Netherlands is eligible to export raw, non-intact and intact veal intended for non-intact use.
The Netherlands has been eligible to export raw, intact veal intended for intact use to the US since March 2016. The FSIS was withholding permission for the export of veal for non-intact use until a review of the Netherlands’ Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC) verification activities was completed. The review determined that the verification activities are sufficient.
