Fresh mango from Vietnam allowed for importation
APHIS sets guidelines for mango importation

The USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has amended regulations to allow the importation of fresh mango fruit from Vietnam.
The fruit will be subject to a systems approach, which includes orchard or packinghouse requirements, irradiation treatment, and port of entry inspection. This approach is aimed at stopping plant pests that may accompany mango fruit, including several varieties of fruit flies and mealybugs.
The updated regulations took effect on Dec. 29, 2017.
