Byrne Dairy (DeWitt, N.Y.) has proposed a $24 million, 42,000-sq.-ft. expansion of its Ultra Dairy plant to expand its packaging capabilities.

Iowa Food Group LLC will take over Tyson’s vacant deli meat processing plant in Cherokee, Iowa. Opening in 2019, the 250,000-sq.-ft. facility, which was acquired for $2.35 million, will be used to further process proteins.

Ramen maker Maruchan Virginia, a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Toyo Suisan Kaisha Ltd., broke ground on a manufacturing expansion on its Chesterfield, Va., campus. Gray Construction, A&E firm of record, says the facility will be finished in the fall of 2019.

Claxton Poultry plans construction of a $12 million, 35,000-sq.-ft. deboning and packaging facility in Sylvania, Ga.

De Wafelbakkers (breakfast products) is investing $15 million to expand its McDonough, Ga., facility, which adds 83 jobs at the facility.
