Kroger selected Groveland, Fla., for its second automated customer fulfillment center, which will be operated by Ocado, an online grocery retailer.

Malt Products Corporation, a manufacturer of malted barley extract and other natural sweeteners, invested over $15 million in a new drying plant in Dayton, Ohio, incorporating a vacuum belt dryer by Bucher Unipektin. 

Old Trapper Smoked Products opened its new 80,000-sq.-ft. jerky production facility in Forest Grove, Ore.

PHM Brands chose Michigan City, Ind., for its new $6 million hemp plant, which will produce CBD-based ingredients.

Greenleaf Foods plans to build a 230,000-sq.-ft. facility in Shelbyville, Ind., to produce plant-based burgers. The $310 million project will open in 2020 and employ 460 people by the end of 2022. 

Lakeside Foods has begun construction on its $40 million frozen-foods expansion in Manitowoc, Wis., after a groundbreaking ceremony held in late 2018.
